Candle Care & Safety
Basic Candle Handling Guidelines to Follow
-
Never leave candle unattended.
-
Remove any debris from candle before lighting. Do not allow any dust or dirt to collect in the liquid wax.
-
Always Trim your wick before each burn.
-
Do not place burning candles on or near anything that can catch fire. Place on temperature safe surfaces.
-
Do not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours per use.
-
Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets.
-
When putting out a candle NEVER use water. Make sure the wick ember is no longer glowing. Keep your candle away from moisture.
-
The Very 1st Time you lite your candle, please burn it till you see the wax (aka. melt pool) reach the edges of your candle container. Your candle has memory and it will help extend the amount of times you can burn your candle.
-
If you do not allow the candle to burn all the way to the edge of the container when you first burn it, the candle will begin to tunnel down into the wax instead of melting all the way to the edges.
-
If you cannot achieve a wax pool across the jar candle, you may have cut your wick too short (this is called drowning your wick). Though this may cause some anguish, just pour out some of the liquefied wax into a non-flammable container. This will alleviate the drowning affect by making your wick longer.
-
Do not ingest. Candle or Candle Melts are not Edible.
-
Place your candle in an area away form drafts, open air vents, or ceiling fans. This will help avoid rapid burning and prevent flare ups.
-
When burning your candle, make sure there is always at least a bottom layer of solidified/un-melted wax. Never allow the remainder of your candle to become totally liquefied. Doing so could cause your candle to overheat and it could become a fire hazard.
When Using a Wax Melter
-
Simply place the ceramic dish in the freezer for 10 minutes and it will release the candle wax melt from the dish to be discarded.
